It will be difficult to predict anything with any degree of certainty. Keep in mind we are still in an ice age (Ice at the poles). The whole climate thing is so cyclical by nature. I am not sure we can say Man is causing it to warm up. But here a point I would like to bare out if you please. I am not a global warming kind of guy but with that said If we (humans) are exerting pressure on the climate mechanics causing the ice age to come to a somewhat overdue change to a warmer clime then It might be a wise move to try and hold back the tide by being Greener. It will not hurt ( except your wallet :)) to give it a go. Just keep in mind some of the solutions like CFLs are a dangerous check to write that our world might not cash. Each CFL has mercury in them and if disposed of properly then sure but I have zero faith that my neighbors down in Bugtussle will do that and our Aquifers get a big dose of Vitamin M. Now My great grand kids will be about as bright as one of those CFLs... burned out. And while I am on this rant.hehe Lets talk about Carbon credits. We are all in the wrong business. If you are that concerned about the carbon you put out then stop doing it or slow down... but paying some guy to plant a couple hundred trees that have a 40% mortality rate is ridiculous at best. If I ever stop writing this blog, It is because I started a carbon credit company and I will be too busy counting all the money!!!
SteveTSteve Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12824763216858633194noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2560370723234985360.post-32467235478852905382009-08-25T13:53:10.858-04:002009-08-25T13:53:10.858-04:00Steve:

As an enjoyer of climate and astronomy, I believe the sun's output cannot be overlooked. The Old Farmer's Almanac bases some of their weather predictions on solar output. The 2009 edition has an article (by Joseph D’Aleo) on the possible effects of the minimum.

I think there’s a good chance this could counteract the effects of global warming for the next several decades to a century – sounds good right? What concerns me is that humanity will be lulled into thinking global warming is either a hoax or not as bad as the scientists were saying and continue on with their carbon producing lives… then the sun will turn back to active and the sh-- will hit the fan.

Mr. ClarkAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
